Although there are multiple projects going on in the 9th-grade class, (the main project is social justice, see the previous post) in Digital Design class we're making videos. We get to choose groups of 3 and have to include certain shots, or whatever content we want. Then we edit individually. My group includes Claudia and Bailey, and we’re creating a video for HundrED organization. The collaboration part needed to be top notch. I chose two collaboration outcomes that I think my group nailed! That’s what this blog post is about. The first collaboration outcome that my group nailed was accepting roles and showing understanding by fulfilling those roles. My team was very well conducted when it came to roles. Bailey was filming, I was interviewing people, and Claudia was the “outreach” that helped us get people to interview. That’s pretty much all to be said on that outcome/topic. We really did do an amazing job and there’s nothing to improve on. The other collaboration outcome that my group was amazing at was coming to meetings fully prepared. We met at the beginning of every class period and had thorough discussions on progress and who to interview next. We ended up with some really amazing people that we interviewed. Some of these candidates included our principal; Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Vallerga (The internship coordinator), and Bree Mendez (Sophomore class president). I truly believe that everything that we learned and recorded from the interviews helped us with our video, and helped show the viewer of the video that our school, New Technology High School is the place to be! The community here is so amazing, and my team showed that in our video! *Video is still being edited, will be shown on future post.
